Henrik Nikoyan: Visions

"Henrik Nikoyan: Visions" exhibition opened on March 13, at Sasuntsi Davit Garden Gallery of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. 

Industrial designer, glass artist and painter Henrik Nikoyan was born on May 17, 1936, in Gyumri. His art education started at Gyumri art school, guided by skilled teachers H. Ananikyan and Sh. Sargsyan. In 1956 Mr. Nikoyan was admitted to Vera Mukhina Higher School of Art and Design in Leningrad in the Department of Glass Art and Ceramics. Upon his graduation Henrik Nikoyan returned to Armenia and engaged in industrial design, both professionally and academically. In the diverse legacy of the artist, studio glass that opens new horizons of Nikoyan’s creativity is particularly prominent. 
In his quest for glass types and solutions, in harmony with his artistic ideas, Henrik Nikoyan achieved recognition for his exceptional use of colored blown glass. 

The works presented in "Henrik Nikoyan: Visions" exhibition incorporate the visionary images of the designer in the fiery colors of glass and are an important contribution in the decorative and applied arts of Armenia.
